Sheryl Underwood, an American comedian and television host popular as presenter on The Talk, a popular talk show on daytime television. Born in Arkansas she grew up at Little Rock and Atwater. Sheryl was raised by a difficult family. She spent the majority of her youth watching over her sick sister Frankie. She had a lot of trouble with her mother while growing older. Sheryl said that at one instance, she was stabbed by her mother her son's father because she was getting close to the father. After her graduation from college, Sheryl entered the military. However her interest lay in comedy. She was the first female contestant in the competition Miller Lite Comedy Search held in 1989. Her TV career began in 1992, as an actor on the HBO comedy program Def Comedy Jam. The show was hosted by her Oh Drama! in 2000. She has appeared as a host on The Talk since 2011. She has played in fictional shows like Bulworth Nikki, Beauty Shop and others.
